Pioneer is pleased to announce a firmware release for Apple AirPlay 2 on select network-enabled components, as announced on January 8th. This update covers a broad lineup from the top end model "SC-LX901" released in 2016 to the best-selling model "VSX-933" in 2018.
Apple AirPlay 2
AirPlay 2 is an Apple technology designed to control home audio systems and speakers in any room — with a tap or by just asking Siri — right from iPhone, iPad, HomePod, or Apple TV. Play a song in the living room and kitchen at the same time or adjust the volume in any room, all in sync.
The following components will support Apple AirPlay 2:
- AV Receiver: SC-LX901, SC-LX801, SC-LX701, VSX-LX503, VSX-LX303, VSX-933, VSX-S520, VSX-S520D
- Network Stereo Receiver: SX-S30DAB
To automatically update your compatible network-connected Pioneer product, navigate to the system setup menu and follow the instructions, or contact our service and support centre for further assistance.
